One of the first things we did Saturday morning was go to the Akershus Fortress with the goal of seeing the castle. The fortress was pretty neat, though not especially exciting since there weren't any battles going on. I think many fortresses are disappointing in this same way - they are exciting in my imagination due to the human struggles for which they were necessary, but upon arrival, they turn out to be empty and ordinary.
There's not much to say about the matter - it was pretty and green and had old buildings. Enjoy the photos!
